Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India by 44 runs in their first match of the U19 Asia Cup group stage

Dubai: Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India by 44 runs in their first match of the U19 Asia Cup group stage in a thrilling match at the Dubai Stadium on Saturday. With a tough target of 282 runs, Pakistan and India performed poorly throughout the match and were bowled out in 47 overs, scoring 239 in just 47 overs and trailing by 44 runs. 

The team put up a good batting performance and scored 281/7 in their allotted 50 overs. This was built on by Shahzaib Khan’s magnificent 159 off 147 balls and Usman Khan’s confident 60. Samrath Nagraj took three wickets while Ayush Mahate emerged as the best bowler, taking two.


The performance set the tone for their U19 Asia Cup campaign. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have sought an opportunity from the International Cricket Council to discuss the matter with the foreign ministers of the respective countries. ) postponed the board meeting without deciding on the future 2025 Champions Trophy. The board meeting was held - March window next year. In the 15-minute event, Pakistan reiterated its opposition to the hybrid model.
